Cultural Event Celebrating the 25th Anniversary of Korea-Central Asia Ties
The KF’s Korea-Central Asia Cooperation Forum Secretariat is preparing to hold the cultural event Chapter 25: Korea-Central Asia Folk Music Stories in commemoration of the 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two sides.
The event will serve as an opportunity to enhance cultural exchange and cooperation between the participant countries by showcasing performances of their traditional folk music. The event will feature a number of artists, including members of the Korean group Sodam Soriart (Kim Geum-heui, sori; You Seung-yeul, taepyeongso; Park Tae-young, percussion; Koo Gu-hoe, piano) as well as performers from the five Central Asian member countries—Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan. The artists will take to the stage at the Asia Culture Center in Gwangju on December 13 before heading to the National Folk Museum in Seoul on December 15.
