Korea Ranks 7th Worldwide in Applications for Space Tech Patents
Since the 1990s, Korea has seen a total of 840 applications for patents on space-related technologies, placing the country seventh worldwide.
The Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO) analyzed patent applications for B64G (cosmonautic vehicles and equipment) and F02K9 (rocket engine plants) in major countries. The result shows the US topped the list with 6,226, followed by China with 4,330, and France with 3,409, implying that countries with strong space technology ranked high on the list.
